Running Undeclared

Let’s be honest: in Alaska, it’s not the undeclared candidates who’ve abandoned conservative values it’s the GOP establishment. We sent a Republican majority to Juneau, and they handed control to Democrats. They silenced conservatives like Rep. Eastman, refused to stand up for parental rights, and helped override the Governor’s veto to increase spending on failing schools. So I ask: why would a principled conservative align with a party that won’t even defend its own platform?
Undeclared doesn’t mean liberal it means Undeclared. I fight against the ideology of the democrats and the left, I support the conservative movement and today in Alaska, and even nationally the establishment GOP does not. I am running to represent District 2 and the Borough , not the party machine that’s traded principle for power sharing.
The Alaska GOP has repeatedly sided with Democrats from forming bipartisan majorities to expanding government and ignoring cultural issues that matter to families.
True conservatives are being punished, Eastman was stripped of committees, censured, and isolated, despite being overwhelmingly supported by his district.
Silence on social issues is complicity. The GOP has failed to defend girls’ sports, bathroom policies, and parental rights in education.
I am running undeclared because I answer to the people of district 2 and the broader valley , not party bosses. That’s not liberal it’s leadership.
I’m not running to play party games. I’m running to restore accountability, defend conservative values, and give District 2 a voice that won’t be traded away in backroom deals. If that makes me ‘undeclared,’ then so be it. I’m proudly unafraid to stand alone if it means standing for what’s right.
Undeclared doesn’t mean neutral it means you have to look deeper. I’m running undeclared because I refuse to compromise conservative values for party politics. Others may use the same label, but their endorsements, donors, and silence on key issues tell a different story. Voters deserve transparency, not camouflage.
GOP Siding with Democrats
Despite sending a Republican majority to Juneau, the Alaska Senate remains under Democrat-led control thanks to a bloc of GOP senators who joined with Democrats to form a “bipartisan majority.” This includes:
Sen. Gary Stevens (R–Kodiak) – Senate President
Sen. Cathy Giessel (R–Anchorage) – Majority Leader
Sen. Kelly Merrick (R–Eagle River) – Majority Whip
Sen. Jesse Bjorkman (R–Nikiski) – Committee Chair
Sen. Bert Stedman (R–Sitka) – Finance Co-Chair
These Republicans effectively handed committee control and legislative agenda-setting to Democrats. Even though the GOP won 11 of 20 seats, the majority caucus was built by crossing party lines leaving true conservatives in a marginalized minority.
Why would I run as part of a party that does this.
I’m a constitutional conservative. My values haven’t changed but the Alaska GOP has. They handed Senate control to Democrats, refused to back the Governor’s vetoes, stayed silent on parental rights and biological integrity in sports, and punished conservatives like Rep. Eastman for standing firm. So I ask: why would I align with a party that won’t even defend its own platform?
Why I am Running Undeclared
I am not rejecting conservative principles I reject the party machinery that’s abandoned them.
I answer to District 2 voters, not caucus deals or Anchorage based political coalitions.
I am running to restore integrity, not play party games.
What the Alaska GOP Has Done
Sold out the majority: GOP senators joined Democrats to form a “bipartisan majority,” sidelining conservative voices.
Refused to help the Governor: Overrode his veto on bloated education spending without demanding reform.
Silenced conservatives: Stripped Eastman of committees, censured him, and isolated him despite his district’s support.
Ignored social issues: No leadership on boys in girls’ bathrooms, gender identity in schools, or protecting female sports.
Yes I can join the GOP and try to change it from within, but how long would that take. Our borough residents need answers and solutions today, not tomorrow.
Being undeclared doesn’t mean I’m liberal it means I’m unbought. I’m not here to protect a party. I’m here to protect families, property rights, and the future of the Valley.
